Who says Singaporean women are shy?

Hmmmph

Truth be told, I'm surprised something like this hasn't happened earlier. All that talk we've been hearing about free speech on the internet? This is one damn good example. Like it or hate it.

What do I think?

As a cultural expert on nude shots: The photographer uses both the shadowing effect and the black & white effect to excellent use to show the true beauty of the female body, every curve accentuating the sexuality of the subject.

As a horny teenage boy: WAH!!! SHIOK AAAAHHH!!!! Nipples are a little bit too big for my taste though.

Holy two part post, Batman!

D-Day: 24th June 2005

We have a special blog post today! A two-parter!

Part 1

You all know life has its 'What If...' moments right? Right now, I have three of 'em. In my ongoing attempt to be more open I'm going to let you guys in on 'em. 2 of those 'What Ifs', some of you may have heard, maybe a little too many times. One, I've kept to myself all these years.

What If No. 1: ...I had asked Shikin out a little earlier?
This, of course, I have mentioned so many times, I think people are getting sick about it. But what can I say? In the 19 years and 4 months I've been on this planet, no other female has inspired in me such feelings of love and joy and sorrow that I nearly burst into from the inside. And that's only when I simply look at her! Another thing I rue is the fact that I didn't talk to her nearly enough. I've forgotten what she sounded like.

Nevertheless, I had to get over her. I had to. Obsessing about her even as she was dating another boy was not healthy. So right now, as of this moment, I am glad to say, I have FINALLY gotten over her. Time really is a great healer, huh? I figured, Life goes on. At least she's happy, many fishes in the sea, bla bla bla. But you want to know what really made me get over her?

This. She looks good, no doubts there. But instead of being the girl I know and almost loved I remembered back in YISS, in those pictures, she now reminds me of 'GASP' my sister.

You can't imagine how much of a turn-off that is.

So, if I ever see Shikin again (maybe this Hari Raya), I don't expect to freeze and babble and come close to fainting like I once did. Instead, I will smile, greet her, and treat her just like my sister. Ok, a little nicer than that.

What If no. 2: ...I had auditioned for Merchant of Venice?
Again, this is something I have mentioned time and again. For the record, I didn't audition because I had to register for my IC. You could say I should have gone earlier. And you'd be right. But I had no idea where to go then, so my dad had to bring me there. Thing is, he was only free at the very last day of registering. The very same day of the auditions. So here's my choice, Register and don't audition, I won't get a part in the play. Vice versa, I get hit with a fine. Easy choice right?

No such problems for my sis, who auditioned and got a role as an extra, which I wouldn't have minded. Really, I would have played a dead body just to get on that stage.

Anyhow, thanks to my IT club, I did get to film the play using a digital camera. One perk of that: a backstage pass. Better than nothing I suppose. Only used it once, to get a Coke from the vending machine. Yep, excellent perks.

So to round off this particular 'What If', three things about the lady who played 'Portia' in Merchant of Venice.

1) I never knew she existed before the play.
2) The first we met face to face, I had to pay the fine for an overdue library book. I didn't have the money, so she, who was standing next to me, paid it for me. As of now, I still owe her 10 cents. BTW, that book? William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice.
3) She's the only girl other than Shikin I've asked out. Well, what can I say? She is hot in her own special way. Too bad, like Shikin, I was a few months too late.

I have GOT to work on my timing.

I'll leave the 3rd What If for another time, shall I? Yes, I think I shall.

Part 2

A short Part really. It's about the Caped Crusader, the Dark Knight, the Scourge of Gotham's Criminals, the master of countless martial arts, the wearer of a funny-looking costume and the holder of a criminally high amount of cash.

Honestly, if I have to say his name, you really should watch more TV. It's not as bad as they say it is, you know!

Back in 2002, someone said that the reason Spider-Man beat Star Wars Episode II was because the public prefers superheroes over sci-fi.

Well, here's a chance to test that theory again.

Ah, but Batman Begins isn't like Spider-Man. It's dark and serious and broody and depressing and scary as fcuk.

Bahriah, I think you're going to LOVE this movie.

Just like I went and watched Episode III because it ws Star Wars, I'm going to watch Batman Begins for a similar reason. It's Batman. Plain and simple.

Batman as it should have been.

One more thing before I go: I've cut my hair and shave my moustache. And now, at that risk of sounding conceited, I say this: DAMN! I look GOOD!

Episode III: The Overdue Review

I suppose since it's been 2 weeks since I've watched EpIII, I might as well write the review that I promised. But since I'm still too lazy to write a long ass composition, I'll write a summary.

Let's split the movie in 3 parts: The first 20 minutes, the nezt 40 or so minutes, and the final hour.

First 20 minutes: Now how can you not geek out at possibly the 2nd greatest space battle of all time? (First being Return of the Jedi) If the battle doesn't get your blood pumping, you must be General Grievous's long lost kid (Grievous by the way is a disappointment, nowhere near Darth Maul in the cool ratings). R2-D2 practically steals the show here, being the kick-ass robot we know he is.

Next 40 or so minutes: The weak link of the movie. Anakin and Padme's scenes, while an improvement, are still a bore. In fact, this whole stretch of the film is very talky, it bogs down the movie. With the exception of Palpatine. He is the star of the movie.

Final hour: This is the part I really wanted to see. Obi-Wan fighting Grievous. Palpatine mind-f*&king Anakin. Mace's final scene. The last 2 fights are the highlights. Yoda vs Palpatine pits the most powerful Jedi with the most powerful Sith. And it sizzles like steak. (That means it rocks) (Note about Yoda: In the cinema I watched it in, there were these 2 girls who kept saying about Yoda: SO CUUUTE!!!! I mean, ok, he is a little, but come on!) Anakin vs Obi-Wan, well it was a bit of a let-down. The fight itself I mean. The atmosphere, the repartee are just awesome. And the end of the fight, I admit, I nearly cried. Nearly, mind you. Which leads to my favourite scene, Darth Vader reborn. I tell you, I nearly pissed my pants hearing the first Vader breath and seeing Vader stand up. The 'NOOOOOOO!'? Well, ok, maybe it should be replaced by a mournful cry. 'AAARRRRRRGH!'

Well, that looks like a rush job doesn't it? Told you I'm lazy. Well, that's my review and I'm sticking to it. Rating: $9.00 out of a maximum $9.50

Ding Ding a Bing a Ding

The Most Annoying Thing In The World

I love music. It can please you, depress you, make you laugh, make you hurl. And right now, in the UK, a ringtone is making everyone lose their lunch.

See, this ringtone is the very first one ever to make it to Number 1 in the UK charts. Now everyone's calling it the Death of Music as we know it. Which is complete rubbish. I mean, if pop music can survive the era of the Boybands in the late 90s, it can survive anything. Anyway, the song in question is Crazy Frog's Axel F, combining the Crazy Frog ringtone (which is basically a guy trying to mimic the sound a scooter makes) and the theme from the movie Beverly Hills Cop.

I have a soft spot for cheesy techno music. Blame it on all the times I've heard those techno songs from the carnivals and pasar malams when I was a kid. Clicking on that link above will lead you to the video of Crazy Frog's Axel F, and you will realize that that song is one of the absolute best examples of "cheesy techno music" ever.

Me? Heck, I like it. I might even buy the ringtone, just to piss those music purists off.

Because I feel a little insane, here are the lyrics:
Beh-ding ding ding ding dididing ding bing bing pscht,
Dorhrm bom bom bedom bem bom bedom bom bum ba ba bom bom,
Bouuuuum bom bom bedahm, Bom be barbedarm bedabedabedabeda
Bbrrrrrimm bbrrrrramm bbbrrrrrrrrraammmmm ddddddraammm,
Bah bah baah baah ba wheeeeeee-eeeee-eeeee!

Not a good weekend...

Now, as you may know, I'm a Star Wars fan. And as any Star Wars fan know, the absolute best time to watch Star Wars (or any movie for that matter) is the very first screening. If it means a midnight screening, all the better. There's something about watching a blockbuster movie at the middle of the night, y'know?

Normally, my parents would of course immediately and absolutely forbid me to watch a midnight screening. But last Wednesday, a mere 3 hours before screening, I was hopeful my dad would let me go. After all, we were in Genting at the time, and my dad did look interested in the cinema.

-Quick note on the place with the cinema, the lobby of the First World Hotel. It is without a doubt one of the best reasons to have an IR in Singapore. It was a freakin' theme park, for Yoda's sake! Kicks Escape's butt anyday.

Back to my dad. He did look interested, but ultimately, he didn't go for it. I knew he was worried about the crowd, so I told him to look around. It was a weekday and not a holiday, so there weren't too many peeps around. But then he told me that we were too far from our hotel, and if I wanted to watch the movie, I would have to make my own way back to the hotel myself. Yeah, down the long road down a mountain. That wasn't fair, and I told him so, but by that time, he went on buying useless stuff like clothes.

-Not that I hate clothes. They're necessary. But just as some people don't understand Star Wars, I don't understand fashion, so there you go.

I wasn't too sad though. There was still the Sunday when we all would get back. The family were all set to leave Kuala Lumpur (a damn great city) at around 6.30pm, when my mom saw the words Times Square on a building. 5 minutes later, we were in the lobby.

That pissed me. Now I know we would get home late and possibly ruin my chance of watching the movie on the first weekend. A good thing Berjaya Times Square was I think the best leisure centre in South East Asia or I would have blown a fuse right there and then.

-Berjaya Times Square: Half shopping centre, half indoor theme park. Tagline: All in one place. Never a truer tagline. There has to, and I do mean HAS TO, be a place like this in the New Downtown they're making in Marina.

So eventually, we did get home. At around 3AM. I was still hopeful of going, but my parents put paid to that thought. Mom said "No need lah!" and Dad said "Surely cinema full, wait till next week". So here I am, possibly the only Star Wars fan not to have watched Star Wars Episode III as yet. I mean sure, I didn't watch Episode II in the cinemas. But that was because I knew it wouldn't be interesting, being the middle of the trilogy and all. (I watched Spider-Man instead.) But still, this is Episode III, the one with Darth Vader! I'm going to watch this movie, even if it kills me! Or turn me into a Sith, whatever.

-Oh, and to complete my bad weekend, I got a fever coming back home, my room TV is acting weird again, turning off and on and not making me able to use the controls, and to top it off, my computer monitor has blown its bulbs. At first, after I turn the monitor on, it would blink, and turn back off. Now, it's completely dead. Now I have to use the Ngee Ann computers, so blog posts from me and my sisiter will be minimal now. Not a good weekend at all.

Good thing I had an OK trip to KL though, or I would be REALLY depressed.

The Dream Master

-I watched Episode III yesterday. Basically, it boils down to this. It was a disapointment. The movie was too short, the lightsabre battles were a joke and the special effects were not so special. Jeez. It's enough to make this fan lose hope.

Thankfully, the movie I saw was all in my dream. I can't tell you how happy I was when I woke up. I mean, seriously, I really thought it was happening. I've realised I only get those realistic dreams mostly when I'm not feeling too well.

-To those wanting to avoid spoilers for the movie, I suggest you stay away from Toys R Us. The packaging to the Star Wars toys might have some spoilers on them.

The Darth Side compels you.....

You know, I thought it'd be interesting if I could write only about Star Wars for the next two weeks until the 19th (ROTS TIME BABY, YEAH!). So here I go.

Short post today to advertise one of the funniest blogs out there: The Darth Side. The posts are funny, but the really funny stuff is in the comments. Real ROFL stuff here.

The story nobody's asking for...

...but I'm going to blog about it anyway. It actually happened 2 weeks ago, but the reason why I'm blogging about it now is because, well, I'm lazy. You can't say I'm not honest. You can say that this story shouldn't be so long, but I miss essay writing in school. (I know, unbelievable, huh?). I just have to write a story. It's not a masterpiece like the stuff I used to make (Adik: Aksyen!), but it's something. It's a long post, so please bear with me.

A few weeks ago, I got an invitation to join a birthday party, to celebrate (what else?) a birthday. It doesn't really matter that I've never even actually met the birthday girl before then, but hey, a party's a party. Besides, I'm glad for any opportunity to get out of the house. The party happened on the 16th of April, a Saturday, a special Saturday, one which both my parents will be home. So what would you have picked - a fun birthday party, or sitting at home, getting nagged at by my folks to clean the dishes?

So of course, I got ready, and wore the nicest shirt I have in my closet that wasn't smelling of stale sweat and mothballs. I tried to comb my hair. The keyword is 'try', since I was trying to go for the Beatles look, you know, Paul McCartney. Now instead I got a Harry Potter look. Except Harry is actually cute. And has round glasses. So anyway, the birthday girl was someone I've wanted to meet for a long time. So I tried the best I can to make myself presentable. As presentable as a guy with wild hair, bad faint moustache and a face crying out for Neutrogena can be.

The venue: Swensen's Jurong Point. On the way there, in the bus 66 I saw my dear friend Faryn at the bus stop, looking as Aunty as ever. (I'm sorry, but to me, it takes a very special woman to wear a tudung and not look like an Aunty). She didn't see me, so I phoned her and chatted with each other for a while.

-Summary of our conversation
Faryn: Bla bla bla bla bla bla de dah dah bla bla bla
TheFiz: Mmhm, mhmm, oh really?, that's nice

Basically, I told her I was going to a birthday party, she was mad she wasn't invited and demanded who the birthday girl is. I didn't tell her because 1) she doesn't know her and B) she won't believe me if I do tell her who she is.

Skipping ahead to Jurong Point, which is "The Place to Be" after opening that new wing a few years ago. I was way too early, so I made my way to the library, and I must say, I found this great book of poems which is just a joy to read. I'd like to take this time to read a passage from the book entitled (CENSORED FOR EXTREMELY BORING SUBJECT).

Anyway, once it was time, I made my way back to Swensen's. BTW, the birthday girl has her own website, and so I have to meet the actual organisers of the party, the website's moderators, Alex and Sammie. Nice people they were. They took me up to Swensen's (pretty spiffy place it was) where the other invited guests were waiting. About 30 of them. That's half the restaurant space taken. Not bad at all.

Anyway, it was some group that gathered. The youngest was 10 years old, the oldest was 28. Different shapes and sizes but we all had a common goal: to meet the birthday girl. Who was late. As usual, so said Faisal, another moderator who I chatted with on the Net from time to time. So I just sat there, drinking the free water, introducing myself to the groupas meesotofreak, my nick at that website.

Finally, exactly one hour after I arrived, the birthday girl arrived. All heads turned to her. Not just our group, but the entire restaurant. Not surprising, considering how pretty she was. She proceeded to introduce herself to everyone, and everyone in turn gave her presents. Lots of presents. Really, it's surprising a petite woman like her can carry all those presents. So, with the birthday girl finally at Swensen's, we can order some food. Not being especially hungry, I ordered a Chocolate Ice Cream Malt. Let me give you a piece of advice: if you are NOT looking for a massive sugar buzz, do NOT order the Chocolate Ice Cream Malt. I'm just sayin'.

Truth be told, it wasn't much of a party. Sure the birthday girl went around trying to talk to everyone (not me though, unfortunately). But otherwise, she sat with the moderators. So I just sat there, eating my ice cream, getting the biggest sugar buzz of my life.

Of course, the birthday girl soon had to leave because of a prior engagement. But she said we can all watch her do the said prior engagement. So of course we went to the stage where she was doing her engagement. It all went well. I even enjoyed the manicure competition.

BTW, throughout the show, there was this irritating jingle about Jurong Point that kept playing. No wait, irritating is not the word. Terrible. Awful. Loathsome. I can't think of any other word. So of course when it was time for the jingle singing contest, one of the the emcee picked me to joined the contest. I tried to decline politely, but the other emcee actually came up and dragged me to the stage. The other emcee incidentally being the birthday girl. I said "I can't sing", which was a lie, I can sing a little, but still no one listened. And the gang (those who stayed back) were cheering me on, so I thought "What the heck?". If I'm going to sing a jingle on stage, in front of hundreds of shoppers, I might as well give 'em a show. So I sang my guts out, trying not to puke from the awfulness of the song. Heck, I think I even sang it better than the original jingle singer (Vernon A, I think). OK, maybe not, but a guy has the right to delude himself right?

Wow, this post is long, isn't it?

As it turned out, the other contestant singers couldn't match my showmanship. Maybe they were nervous. And here's the thing. For some reason, the minute I was on that stage and looked at the audience, my nervousness vanished. I have no idea why. It was actually replaced by enthusiasm. Maybe my Singapore Idol experience helped. Speaking of which, the people was asked to vote by applauding. I'm amazed my head didn't expand to the size of Russia, the applause, while not on the level of Taufik, was loud. Very loud. Even a few whistles here and there. So thus, I won the competition. And all I had to do was sing a crappy jingle. Which you can hear at Perfect 10 if you're lucky. The gang had the cheek to call for an encore, so of course I had to sing again. Alas, it wasn't as good. But hey, least I won a Perfect 10 folder, a landyard, a car sticker and vouchers worth $40 bucks. Which my sis promised to give me.

I went to the gang, got my congratulations and ran for the loo. Funny how I realised I had a full bladder only after my Grammy-winning performance eh?

We waited for the show to end so that we can see the birthday girl to her car. What can we say? We liked her. Enough to send her to her car. Besides, we wanted to see exactly what car it was. On the way to the carpark, people kept staring at us. Ok, ok, not us. Her. Can't help it, she is a famous personality. We stopped outside the carpark because the birthday girl didn't want us to come in. So we had one quick photo taking session. One auntie even came and asked for a photo on her mobile for her son. And yes, I got to get my picture taken with the birthday girl, who I just realised I haven't named yet. Well, I don't have to say it, the name's in the link to the photo below.

http://www.jamie-yeo.com/forums/album_comment.php?pic_id=2142

I've wanted to take a photo with her for the longest time. Well now I've done it. That is cool. Too bad I look as blur and weird as usual.

Then we finally let Jamie go (after one last Birthday song), and waited around to say Bye Bye as she drove by. Which she did. In a Mini Cooper, believe it or not. I even got her car number. Too bad I've forgotten it.

Then we all said our goodbyes and split up. Nice day for me I'd say.

Then of course, as I got home and tried to sleep, the folks dragged me up and the whole family went to East Coast for some reason. I don't mind though. I did get to climb a tree for the first time.

Hmmm, I guess that's it then. Story's over. Darn, it's not as good as I hoped it would be. I must be getting rusty. Ah well, I'll work on it. In a nutshell, on the 16th of April, I got to go out and celebrate my 2nd favourite DJ's birthday. Not as exciting as the BBQ last year which I missed, but it's something.

-Last note: I love this template! It's so simple and yet so brilliant in ways I don't know how to say.

Last post in this template

You won't believe what I'm about to say if you've seen my room, but I do like neatness. I like it when my books are placed in a neat row. I like it when my food is arranged nicely, like in a fancy restaurant which I can never afford. And I like it when I see some blog posts arranged in point form. That's a neat way to blog. Instantly shows all the different topics the blogger is talking about. So here, I now introduce my new way of blogging. Hyphen Form!

-I like those Integrated Resort ideas. For selfish reasons. Forget those dumb tourists, finally, TWO new places to go to in Singapore. Orchard is nice, but it's getting boring. That place seriously needs a booster shot. Spice it up a little. Make it more like a TRUE city. Our city is just an area with lots of concrete buildings. I do hope the proper authorities make it a whole lot more than just that.

-I'm not going to mention the casinos because since I'm never going to step foot in any casino in Singapore, it doesn't matter if they decide to make the whole East Coast Park a casino.

-Chelsea's going to win the Premiership. I did ask for it though. "Any team but Man U!" I said. So, here comes Chelsea. I like that Mourinho fella. Here's this relatively young Portugeuse chap who comes in, shakes the whole club to its core and is on his way to winning both the Premiership AND the Champion's League. In his FIRST season. How unbelievable is that? He certainly is better than old school Fergie, that's for sure. Not to mention the team itself of course. Lampard, Terry, Cech, to name a few. Deserving champs every one of them.

Too bad Arsenal will kick their butts next season.

-To cap off, I said I liked neatness. Well, I think this blog template looks kinda cluttered doesn't it? Blame the wallpaper, of course. So this would be my last post using this template. The reason I use this template is to try to stand out visually. That's still important of course, but when it comes to art, I'm just all out of paint. And besides, this sort of template is one that a pre-teen would use, right? So I'm going to use one of Blogger's default templates. I think they're kinda neat, don't you?

Next post: I will answer my sister's question - Where on Earth did I get $45 worth of vouchers and a Perfect 10 landyard? (Hint: The answer won't shock you. In fact, you might say it's a bit anti-climatic.)

Comedy makes the most serious thing light...

Terri Shiavo's Blog

That has got to be the most tasteless, yet oddly funniest, thing I've ever seen.

Almost there...

First, Richard Vobes from The Richard Vobes Show reads my letter (Show 80). Now Mr Brown links me (maybe for the wrong reason, but still...). That explains the sudden hike in readers. Not that I'm complaining, narcissist that I am. A big Howdy to everyone!

Now I just have to figure out how to make my sister lend me another 10 bucks. Good thing she's rich now.

National Service - Boo Hoo

Apparently, according to Faryn's blog, there's something going on at YISS, and I'm not privy to the details. That means I don't know what the heck is going on there. I don't mind though. I got a feeling I'm not going to miss much. 'Cept the Mee Soto. 'Groan'

So I now have this letter from the Ministry of Defence, saying I have to report at a secret location (ok, ok, the Registration & Enlistment Centre) this Friday. They want to do a medical examination to judge whether or not I'm fit for NS. You know the drill, temperature taking, needles, sticking something up my rectum, the works.

The whole thing will take 4 hours. So I suppose if I survive the whole thing, I can consider myself fit for NS. And I might just do that. Darn.

The next day will be the birthday party I've been waiting for for a while. Should be fun. And that's all I will say.

Oh, and I got mentioned on a internet radio show. That - is cool.

Sexy Boys & Girls

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

'Sigh'

I consider myself pretty handy with a computer, so the fact that I had no idea how to post a picture in my own blog embarasses me a bunch. I suceeded once, but that was a fluke because I didn't remember how I did it. Now, however, I took some time (1 hour 3 minutes) to figure out how to post a picture. In the end, it's pretty simple actually. I know, I know, trhow me bricks, say I'm dumb for not knowing how to post. Least I'm man enough to admit my weaknesses. So I wonder why I don't consider man enough to look for a job right now? Hmrm.

Anyhow, the lady in that pic right there, you probably know her. If you don't, just look at my new section 'Blog Stars' and click on the top link. Apparently, this very picture inspired some local bloggers to emulate her - the sexy pose, the toungue sticking out. It's called 'The Sexy Blogger Project'. Sounds a whole lot better than 'The Blair Witch Project' eh? Here's the website: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/sexyblogger/

So what better choice than this picture of Wendy Cheng as my very first (ok, second) successful posted picture? Besides, this would hopefully get me a few more hits. I am such an attention whore, it's no longer funny.

BTW, no, I won't send in a picture of myself in that website. Not until I shave my faint moustache and trim my a little anyway.

Congratulations on my sister for using her very first paycheck to buy not a dress, not a pair of shoes, and thankfully not yet another handbag, but something we both can use - the Apple iPod ShuffleTM. I'd post pictures of it, but I keep forgetting to ask my dad to get the camera out of the car.

EDIT: I've wanted you guys to use the comment system under my posts for eons. So because of that, I'm considering crapping the tagboard. Good idea? Bad idea? Click on the comment link to answer please. ;)

Positivity

I would like to make a vow: Never again will I make another blog post that sounds remotely negative again. Ever. Unless it's a really bad issue that needs to be said of course. And bear in mind that there will be one negative post coming in the next 2 months.

This is the Darwin Awards website. In a nutshell, it chronicles all the stories about people who do stuff taht are so dumb, so unbelievably STUPID, that a) they die - or b) their penises fall off (Most awards go to men. Good news for all those women who think we're dumb, eh?). Then I see a story in the papers recently about the guy who died when he got hit by an MRT train. Now, death is never a good thing (or maybe it is, cause you never know what happens when you die. You could end up in Paradise, you could end up in Purgatory, or you just don't exist anymore, plain and simple), man that was a long paranthesis wasn't it? Where was I? Ah yes. Death is never a good thing, and my condolences go to the deceased's family. But think about it. What would you do when your shoe falls on the tracks? Maybe you can just walk half bare footed. Maybe, if you have a very long stick, you can pick the shoe up with it. Or maybe you can call the MRT staff, and they will either gladly help you get the shoe, or gladly tell you that there's nothing they can do. But who in their freakin' mind, would take matter in their own hands, try to get that shoe themselves, and offer their bodies as an inviting target for an incoming train?

A Darwin Award winner, that's who.

Pope John Paul II just died a few hours from me typing this. The guy has touched many lives, Christian and non-Christian. I don't agree with some of his opinions, but if there ever was a guy who deserved to be Time's Man of the Year, he was it. The world has lost a great human being.

Can you dig it, SUCKAAAAA!!!!!

Well, I can officially say that the "no emo" experiment has failed miserably. What can I say? I'm just a naturally happy person. I probably can never have a bad mood for more than a day.

Aiyoyo, everyone's changing their blog addresses nowadays, hard to keep up leh. Well, I will say this - I love my "meesotofreak" address, and I ain't gonna change it. Just so everyone knows. :D

In case you didn't read The New Paper on Saturday, call this number: 6333 1411. Good for a laugh.

Wrestlemania Goes Hollywood in 6 days. WOOHOO!

There you go. A happy blog post from me for once. Why am I so happy now? Don't know, don't care! YEE HA!

Ok, that was corny. Sorry.

I've lost my smile

Here's a scenario. A guy and a girl (let's call 'em Matt and Amy) have been dating for 6 years. They love each other to death. Everyone who knew them thought this was a relationship that would go on forever.

Then comes the best friend of the guy (let's call him Adam). He's a divorcee who just got married again a few months ago. He saw Amy and decided that he liked her. So he flirts with her. And guess what? She flirts back.

You can probably guess what happens next.

So now Matt is heartbroken, while everyone else is cursing Adam for breaking up a happy couple (not to mention cheating on his wife, AGAIN) and Amy for cheating on Matt.

So let me ask you, what do you think of that scenario?

Back to myself now.

I've decided to do a little experiment. You know those goth guys who wear white makeup and black lipstick and cut themselves and who knows what running through their minds? Don't worry, I won't go that far. But I did notice that they are all emotionless, putting a clamp on their feelings. Not happy, not sad, not angry, nothing. Just emptiness. That intrigued me. So, what with my life being as it is, and how emotional I always am, and the pain I've felt being angry and sad which happens too often nowadays, I've decided to try it for a while. So if you see me outside in the Real World and all I give you is at least a small smile that lasts for a second, that's just me trying to let go of my emotions. I'll tell you how this experiment goes later.

Be seeing you,
Fiz

19 already?

19 already.

Seems like yesterday I was anxious to be 18. Now I almost forgot my birthday was today.

Silly isn't it?

Happy Birthday to me, I guess. Happy. I can't really call it a Happy Birthday now, can I? But still, I have my life, my family, my computer. Guy like me can't ask for more, really. For the first time in my life, I don't have any presents I want now. All the things I'd like (HP6, Star Wars 3, The Matrix Online, Debit Card) haven't arrived yet. At least I'll get that last one in about 2 weeks.

There are choices I need to make in the next few months. Important choices. Life-defining choices. Until then, I just have to prepare myself.

Only 1 birthday party worth remembering in my entire life. Not bad at all...

I don't go for the whole cake and candles deal, but I do have one birthday wish: Happiness. I want everybody to be happy. If there's any of you fighting with another person, STOP IT! An incident happen that nearly killed the friendship between some of my friends and it broke my heart. In the end though, I just want y'all to be happy.

Alright, I also want to be a better guitar player.

Don't forget being a Singapore Idol contestant.

Leaving you now with a great puzzle with a great name: Petals Around The Roses

See ya around.

It takes a million of ants to hold me back...

So we wond the Tiger Cup. You know, sooner or later, we're all gonna get bored at seeing only Thailand and Singapore win the Tiger Cup. Just my opinion. Now maybe my sister will shut up about that Shahril Ishak fellow.

I'm in school right about now. Relieving memories, however few they are. Regretting much. But no sense crying now, eh? So now, I wonder, why don't I see my friends around. Not at Blocks 27/31, not at Canteen 1 or 3, nowhere. Busy, busy, busy, right, guys? Now, my 19th birthday is coming, and I don't expect it to be much of a happy one, but I'm going to celebrate it nonetheless. So, buddies, I'm possibly going to ask some of you out on the 24th of February for a little get together. Nothing much, just hang around at Starbucks maybe. It's all I could afford anyway. So keep that in mind, ok?

I see this open house is going to be an ambitious one. Hope NP meets their targeted student quotas.

Quothe the Raven: Eat my shorts

So here comes what has become a rare sight: a post from Moi! And it will stay rare for awhile. I can't believe I'm saying this, but internet surfing has become, well, BORING. That includes forums and yes, blogs. So for now, I'll only say something here when I really have something to say.

So because I'm a coward, I STILL haven't told my parents about what happened to me. I know I have to soon. Real soon. Like, before-my-birthday soon. Maybe after the Tiger Cup final. Go Lions!

Right, tsunami. You know what I found really ironic? All year long, I've been hearing how we must protect ourselves against terrorism. That one good suicide bomb is enough to bring down the economy. Well, guess what? Mother Nature just proved that, when it comes to destruction, Osama has nothing on her. The bomb in Jakarta? Sad and unfortunate, but it affected thousands in one area only. The tsunami? Affecting millions, from Aceh all the way to Zimbabwe. I just find that funny. Dark humour at its best.

If anyone knows where I can get a good paying part-time job, please, use that tagboard. Lord knows it could use some activity.

Later.

Great, it's happening to me too...

Hey, hey, hey, I just did my Jalan Raya with my friends. My FIRST ever. I've never done it with my primary, secondary or poly friends before today. I just wish we could do this more often. And with more friends. I mean, 12 people are alright, but I'd like more. And I'm still hoping for that Yusoffian reunion, with everyone in our batch.

Yup, I'm going to take an indefinite break from blogging. I can't believe it took me this long to lose interest. But the real reason for the break...you can ask me personally.

Well, see ya when I see ya. Oh, and one more thing.....

HALF-LIFE 2 ROXORZ MY BOXORZ!1!!!11111!LOL!1!!!1

Seriously, Best...Game...Ever. Go play it.

Bye.

Monday, November 15, 2004

Hai, Selamat Hari Lebaran...

To all my friends, Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir & Batin, please forgive me for the sins I have done to you in the past, and the ones I will do to you in the future. :D

$80 duit raya only. Isn't the economy supposed to be rising?

11 hours to Half-Life 2. Can't bloody wait!

They say this wouldn't happen in our lifetime...

Aahhhh, 1 week. 1 week till gaming bliss. 1 week till I see the Gman. 1 week till I moon Alyx. 1 week till I get my crowbar. 1 week till Half-Life 2.

For now though, I wish I had an Xbox. Halo 2 is released today. Man, what the hype is that? It even gets its own roadshow in Orchard Road. I can't go of course, so I can't see if it is all that. Now, Half-Life fans and Halo fans are supposed to be enemies, kinda like Arsenal and Manchester United. But I liked the first Halo (liked but not loved) so if and when it comes to the PC, I will buy/illegally download it.

This week's Singapore Idol is the one I've waited for. Asian Pop. 3 Chinese songs, 1 Malay. Should be good.

November 2nd...

Today is a big day for 3 people. 2 of 'em are of course George W Bush and John Kerry. I've been doing some last minute reading on the elections before catching up on a comic strip called Doonesbury. It showed me to some links which are very much anti-Bush. I hope enough Americans read that, because those articles finally had me convinced that Bush has to go. From the debt he's built up, to the plans to kill off Social Security slowly, to his unforgivable Foreign Policy mistakes, they have made a hard-core member of the ABB. Anybody But Bush.

The 3rd person is my little sister, turning 17 years old today. Yo, Adik! You're becoming a young woman soon. Act like one! Seriously, to anybody reading this, go to my Adik's blog (in my Red Pills links) and tag your birthday wishes there please.

Finally, this is a cute cartoon, especially for this Half-Life fan.

Look at that...

Look at the timer to the left. That timer counts the days, hours, minutes and seconds until Nirvana, a.k.a Half-Life 2 is unleashed upon us. Putting that timer on my blog took a little Java programming know-how. Something I had oodles of, of course. I mean, with the genius I have in Java programming, it took me less than 10 minutes to code that timer in this blog.

Oh, alright. I stole it from PlanetHalfLife.com. Happy? No? Alright, I'll make you happy! I'm not a genius Java programmer! In fact, I suck AND blow at it!

Still not happy? Whaddaya want me to do? Go to the middle of the Padang, strip naked, run around and sing "Negaraku"?

Here we go...

Erk. Yesterday was a painful day. Now I know how it feels like when you have a body temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. Not for the weak, I tell ya. Ooof. And for some reason, my dad has a fever too. I still think it was because of the burgers he bought a few days ago. Not that I don't want to eat Ramly burgers again (Best Burgers in the World) but maybe he should watch where he buys them, because hey, roadside stalls aren't exactly goldne examples of hygeine you know. Anyway, I feel tons better now, temperature dropping to 37.5. Glad that's over. Voice is still hoarse though. Mom allowed me not to fast today. I don't mind, I have no appetite anyway. Man, this fever really did a number on my head, it feels like I went a round with Mike Tyson on steroids. Last night, I thought my mom was Santa Claus. It was that bad.

Fever can give you strange dreams at night.

I'm a regular follower of award shows, I get all giggly when one comes around. Oscar for example, I wanted Return of the King to win. Boy, did it ever! And now, up comes the Asian Television Awards, saluting the best in Asian Television. I noticed one thing in the history of the ATA. In the Acting categories, to my knowledge, and memory, no Malay has ever been nominated. I'm not surprised of course, since in Drama, they tend to over-act or under-perform while in Comedy, most are just lame. Which is why I'm rubbing my eyes to see Aaron Aziz nominated for Best Drama Actor for his role in Heartlanders and Suhaimi Yusof nominated for Best Comedy Actor for his role in Living With Lydia. Aaron, I confess, deserves the nom. Not sure if he deserves to win. He'll be up against the usual Thai soap actors the ATA likes to favor. Still, he should be proud, being the only Singaporean drama actor nominated. Drama is Singapore telly's weak point (Masters of the Seas, Paradise) Suhaimi though. I never really liked him. Living With Lydia depended too much on slapstick and Suhaimi was one of the biggest offenders. And the fact that Lydia herself wasn't nominated shows that the judges consider Suhaimi the best performer in the show. What?!?! Regardless, he must have shown that extra something to be nominated and for that, I commend him. Better him than Gurmit Singh AGAIN! Here's the link.

Blogs are really catching on, aren't they? There even was programme dedicated to it the other day. Searching around, I found a site that featured the best Singapore Blogs of last year. Winner? You all may have heard of her. Xiaxue. Not sure whether I like it. I mean, look at all that PINK!!! But she does blog in her own unique and funny way. Being quite the looker (and I bet she's proud of being quite the looker) helps. Hmmm, you know, my blog already has a catchy name. I wonder if I submit it for award consideration......eh, maybe 2005.

Wendy, if you're reading this, which is beyond doubtful but if you are, know that I have become one of the gazillion people that have become inspired by you. And Jamie Yeo is sexy. Yes, maybe a little on the skinny side, but still sexy enough for my uncontrollable hormones.

Long post isn't it? Guess what they say is true: "Good writers must suffer like mad. The best die before they form a sentence." OK, I made that up.

It is awkward isn't it, eating baked potatoes in daytime during the fasting month? They're delicious, too bad I still feel like puking.

19 days until Valve and Vivdendi Universal Games unleash the heavenly gaming goodness that is Half-Life 2......

HA-CHOO!

It's not fair. The holidays I've waited so long for comes around and I get sick. A fever, a bad cough, the sniffles. This is really not my year, is it?

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Look at that. I was so caught up in Half-Life 2 fever that I nearly forgot another game that I want to play is released today.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Since I don't have a PS2, I can't play it now. I can't play it anyway since the censors surely banned this in our fair country. (Gambling, gangs, prostitution, bad for nation building, you know) so when the PC version comes out next year, I'm going to either have to find a pirate CD shop or download it from the net. It'll take awhile, but from the looks of things, I'd say it will be worth it.

Go Gunners.....

So, Arsenal finally lost. To Man U too. Eh, we have to lose some day. But to Man U? Well, let's just consider this a wake-up call, shall we? After all, Arsenal did went one season where they lost only once before. But see, this is a measure of how I don't really care too much about soccer anymore. My most favourite team goes down, and I'm only indifferent to it. But I still will celebrate like it's 2099 once Man U goes bankrupt. Sooner or later, my friends. Sooner or later.....

Three...

They say good things come in threes. Here's a good example: Last Wednesday, three good things happened.

1) First, as I already mentioned, HALF-LIFE 2 IS OUT NOVEMBER 16TH! That's 2 days after Hari Raya. So it will be a very good week then.

2) My exams finished! Thus endeth the worst semester in any school that I have ever endured.

3) New Proton Wira my dad bought. Best damn car I've ever been in! Enough space for my big legs, comfy seats, and a CD player. Sound doesn't have that 'OOMPH' factor, but you can't have everything.

And now, I'm alone, typing this as my family goes to JB. I'd follow them, but I already did yesterday, and I am too bushed to follow them shopping again. Not like they would buy anything I want. And no, a new shirt and pair of shoes is something I need. There's a difference between want and need.

There, better stop here. Have to save the world (again) in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. (Highly Recommended.)

23 days to Half-Life 2...

November 16th 2004 - The Countdown Begins!

VIVENDI UNIVERSAL GAMES ANNOUNCES PLANS TO LAUNCH THE MOST ANTICIPATED PC ACTION GAME OF 2004

Half-Life® 2 to Ship to Retail Outlets Globally This Holiday Season

LOS ANGELES (October 18, 2004) – Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games) today announced that Half-Life® ,2, the sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed PC titles in gaming history, will ship to retail outlets around the world in November. The Company confirmed that Half-Life 2, developed by Valve Software, has gone gold with a planned retail street date of November 16, 2004. The countdown to the highly anticipated retail street date has begun around the world, as VU Games completes plans to ship localized versions of Half-Life 2 simultaneously in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Korean, Thai and Japanese.

"Half-Life 2 has surpassed our expectations in every sense – its high-quality graphics, ground-breaking physics and immersive first-person shooter gameplay set a new standard for PC action games," said Bruce Hack, CEO of VU Games. "Half-Life 2 will go down as one of the best-selling PC titles, and we are thrilled to deliver this ground-breaking title to the worldwide gaming community this fall."

Hailed as "...the best game ever made" by PC Gamer, Half-Life 2 earned a top-rated review score of 98, the highest score bestowed by the magazine in more than six years. The game has received numerous accolades for its technical excellence, captivating story and addictive game play, including more than 10 awards and nominations at the 2004 Electronic Entertainment Expo. In addition to being named "Best PC Game" by 1up.com (Ziff Davis) and Gamespy.com, the title also received a "Technological Excellence on PC" award from IGN.com. CNNMoney.com stated that "Half-Life 2 will redefine what gamers expect from their games visually – and the gameplay is a lot of fun as well."

The global anticipation for Half-Life 2 has reached unprecedented heights, as consumers around the world mark their calendars to buy the game at retail on November 16th. The Half-Life 2 product will include Counter-Strike: Source. VU Games will also release a Half Life 2 Collector’s Edition that will include Half-Life 2 in DVD-ROM format, Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life: Source, a free limited edition t-shirt, and a Half-Life 2 Prima strategy guide book.

The original Half-Life game was launched in 1998 under VU Games’ Sierra Entertainment publishing label. It earned more than 50 game-of-the-year awards and has been heralded as one of the best PC first-person shooter games of all-time.

About Half-Life® and Half-Life® 2
In 1998, Half-Life revolutionized the game industry with its combination of pounding action and continuous, immersive storytelling. Valve’s debut title was named "Best PC Game Ever" by PC Gamer and launched a franchise with more than eight million retails units sold worldwide. In 2004, Half-Life 2 will take the suspense, challenge and visceral charge of the original to new heights of realism and responsiveness. Half-Life 2 opens the door to a world where the player’s presence affects everything around him, from the physical environments to the behaviors – even the emotions – of both friends and enemies. The player again picks up the crowbar of research scientist, Gordon Freeman, who finds himself on an alien-infested Earth being picked to the bone, its resources depleted and its population dwindling. Freeman is thrust into the unenviable role of rescuing the world from the wrong he unleashed back at Black Mesa. And a lot of people – people he cares about – are counting on him. The intense, real-time gameplay of Half-Life 2 is made possible only by Source, Valve’s new proprietary engine technology. Source provides major enhancements in the advanced facial animation system, physics, graphics and AI. Half-Life 2 will be available for the PC.

About Vivendi Universal Games
Headquartered in Los Angeles, VU Games is a leading global developer, publisher and distributor of multi-platform interactive entertainment. Rest in Peace...

How many of you have watched Superman: The Movie? Ah, one of my favourite movies of all time, that was. It saddened me when Marlon Brando, who played Superman's dad in that movie, died. And now Superman himself has died. Christopher Reeves is simply the best Superman ever. He truly made me believe a man can fly. This world is a poorer place without him.

Superman's Song - Crash Test Dummies

Tarzan wasn't a ladies' man
He'd just come along and scoop 'em up under his arm
Like that, quick as a cat in the jungle
But Clark Kent, now there was a real gent
He would not be caught sittin' around in no
Junglescape, dumb as an ape doing nothing

[CHORUS]
Superman never made any money
For saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him

Hey Bob, Supe had a straight job
Even though he could have smashed through any bank
In the United States, he had the strength, but he would now
Folks said his family were all dead
Their planet crumbled but Superman, he forced himself
To carry on, forget Krypton, and keep going

Tarzan was king of the jungle and Lord over all the apes
But he could hardly string together four words: "I Tarzan, You Jane."

Sometimes when Supe was stopping crimes
I'll bet that he was tempted to just quit and turn his back
On man, join Tarzan in the forest
But he stayed in the city, and kept on changing clothes
In dirty old phonebooths till his work was through
And nothing to do but go on home

Oooh Yeah!

'Viruses can ruin your computer. Spyware can ruin your life'

^One of the best slogans ever. Here's a link to Adwarereport.com

That website reports all the news in the war against the #1 scourge of the internet, Spyware. Yup, pushing viruses to #2. A virus can wreck your computer. No biggie, it can be fixed. But spyware, well, here's an example. An important project, you've finished it, now you have to present it. The presentation goes smoothly. Suddenly, one of the hidden spyware programs decides to do its work and show a pop-up ad to HornyXXX.com (just an example, doesn't exist, I hope). Pictures and all. Very embarrasing, no? That website also lists a Top 10 list of Best Anti-Spyware Program. Try one of 'em. It will change your life.

Adui...

Apparently there's this anti-malay Friendster account. I didn't see it because I can't. The link I got leads to an Invalid User ID page. Good thing that of course. Wish I could've seen it before it got shut down though. I'd like to have written the most cuss-filled testimonial ever made in that account. Now my only record from that account is from Shanaz's blog. Funny, weren't the Malays the first to settle here in this island LONG before Raffles came by? I won't bother cussing about it here, since many people have done it already. But I'd just like to comment about this sentence: "however those f@#$%n huan nas do not noe tat their sense of fashion is reali bad. likes to wear those really cheap t-shirts tat we chinese dun even dare to wear and those fuckin ugly tapered pants." Are you freakin' kidding me? I have a bad fashion sense of course, but I am the only Malay I personally know to have a bad fashion sense. And what does "huan na" mean anyway? I'd just like to pray to God to pity this poor soul.

So some people are signing a petition to bring Jassea (wrong spelling but I don't care). Guys, here's an advice: Don't sign it. I don't care whether she deserves to leave or not. The bottom line is, she got the least votes next to Beverly, so she's outta there. Now these petitionists (sic) are trying to make up for their mistake of not rallying to vote for her last week. Now she's paid for it, so too bad, people. You'll just have to vote for somebody else. I suggest Olinda.

Yo...

Just a note: Beware of IRC! It's dangerously addictive!

Heaven is a horsefly

I saw this cartoon is The Sunday New Paper. It had a point. Matrix Reloaded. R (no one above 18 can watch) in America, PG (everybody can watch) here? Strange. And they say we're censoring too much.

Dammit! Undertaker didn't win on Sunday. Where is the justice? Dead, like him I guess.

Right, don't take my word for it, since I'm hoooked to the internet, but this is my last post for awhile. I need to focus on the exams, dammit! I need to pass everything. I need them so my mom can buy the TV she's been promising me. So, bye bye for now. And don't forget to write.

Go Kerry! Go Kerry!

Right now, I'm listening to the US presidential debate as I type this. Now I'm no expert when it comes to debates, but I think this is a very close one. Bush has been attacking Kerry every chance he's got. And he's got a point, Kerry has been 'flip-flopping' a bit. For or against the war? Anyway, I still think Bush has been an awful president. Going to war even with all the other choice. Going to war against a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. He didn't do it as a last resort as he promised. Actually, I realize that I want Bush to lose not because of Bush himself, but because of his VP, Dick Cheney. I keep getting the feeling that he's the true power in the White House. But what do I know? I'm not American. But I am of voting age there, so I think it's vitally important for me to understand this. And hope the US people make the right choice. Anyway, debates. Bush is his usual simple, easy, country boy style. That coulc endear him to the young people, currently his biggest supporters. Kerry is your usual serious debator. More befitting of a President. Hmmm...

In a somewhat related story, I'm watching the debates from the internet. I'm kinda surprised. My internet streaming video has never been this smooth before. And this is live. I can even see non-stop pictures, where before I only see 5 seconds pictures, 10 seconds pause, while the sound kept playing. Very good news.

Alahai...

Alahai...what's up with everyone? I know exams are approaching faster than an express train, but is that why you guys have to look so moody? OK, fine, I guess I'm kinda moody myself. Because of "something" I did, I am now forced to wake up at 5:50am instead of the usual 6:30am. That's a big difference. I am not a morning person. Thank God this semester will end soon. That's one of the plus points of my 'heck care' attitude. I 'heck care' my current problems and try to enjoy myself whenever I can. When I have to study, I study, but otherwise I just, what's the term, slack. It's not popular with my parents, but it keeps me sane.

Here's wishing the Undertaker good luck in winning the WWE Championship Belt this Sunday at No Mercy.

Who cares about a freaking title?

Sasha says in her blog that people who wear red are confident people. I wear red a lot of times. I have more red shirts than any other shirts. Even got red shoes. So does that make me confident? Who knows, but I do feel it, the confidence flowing through me. Knowing my life, it will go away just as the exam comes steaming towards me, around the same time as Ramadan pulak tu. So better make the most of this.

I just had another dream. I was a Singapore Idol contestant and by golly, I was the most popular. And I acted like I've never acted before. Ah well, assuming there's another season coming, I've got until the next auditions to change my whole self. The way I dress, more importantly the way I present myself, most importantly the way my singing voice sounds. I just realized my normal speech stuttering problems go away when I sing. Now all I have to do is make sure I don't make a big fool of myself. And not sing a Backstreet Boys song. What the hell was I thinking?

Wherefore art thou, Half-Life 2?

Change is in the air

How many times in my life have I swore that I would change myself? Hmmm, twice the number of Elizabeth Taylor's ex-husbands I think.

I had a talk with good ole Dad. I can say what I want about him, but I can't deny he's always there for me when I need him, whether I realize it or not. Among other things, he told me something I've known for a long time: Change Thyself. I can't remain the shy, weird, irritable guy I am. I know I'm good with people, I just need to learn how to break the ice myself. I have to be as outgoing as my dad. Without being him. Which is impossible, but I'm gonna try anyway.

This post will close with the lyrics of what I think is the greatest dance song ever: Paul Van Dyk's Time Of Our Lives. I can imagine this song being played at my graduation ceremony.

There's a time for us to let go
There's a time for holding on
A time to speak, a time to listen
There's a time for us to go

There's a time for living low down
There's a time for getting high
A time for peace, a time for fire
A time to live, a time to die

A time to scream, a time for silence

A time to scream, a time for silence
A time for truth against the lies
A time for fate, a time for science
There's a time for us to shine

There is a time for mis-believing
There's a time to understand
A time for hurt, a time for healing
A time you run, to make a stand

Oh, this is the time of our lives (x 4)

Hold on

Thursday, September 16, 2004

You know, I once considered jumping on the MRT tracks.

Personal history time: June Holidays 2002. BBQ with students from YISS 4E3 & 4E5. Germany Vs Saudi Arabia was playing on TV. I was sitting on one spot eating my plate of rice. Faryn sat next to me. At this time, she was just someone I saw at school occasionally. She was crying. I asked her why. She said, "I don't know, I just feel like crying."

That's how I feel now. I'm crying and I'm not sure why. Of course, everything has a reason, and I guess my reason is that I'm being bogged down by all my problems and I'm carrying it all alone. It's at that point when I just don't care about anything anymore.

Problems:

Poly Life - It's tough, tougher than I imagined. Work here, projects there, chaos everywhere. But I get by fine.

Family Life - I am honest-to-god trying to be nicer to my sister. But we are two completely different people and it's hard. But I suppose I should be thankful that there is someone in my house I could talk to for help, even if I don't ask for help that often. There is my father, and I suppose I could talk to him, but frankly, he's still a little timidating. And Mom, she's a nice lady, but I just don't like having a personal talk with her.

Social Life - And here we have my #1 problem. My dad is right, I live too much in my own world. While I go and make myself happy, I ignored all those good kind people who wanted, who actually wanted to make friends with me. And in my own naive way, I pushed them away. By God, a Sec 4 girl once approached me and offered to be my friend because she felt sorry for me always eating my Mee Soto alone. This was in Sec 2. Now, for some reason, I just can't click with my classmates. Sometimes I just feel like they're ignoring me. That's my fault too, I should have gone out of my way to interact with them instead of sitting by myself. And for some godforsaken reason, I find myself wanting to have more female friends than male friends. Not because I want to have a steady girlfriend, but because...you know what, I don't know, I just don't know. I know I have a core group of friends. The friends I made in Sporst Camp. The Floorball team. Faryn, Ernie, Millie, Monica among others. But all of them have other groups of friends. In the end, I'm left alone, eating my Mee Soto.

Man, do I sound whiny or what? Anyway, my little rant has done its job. I feel a little better now. And a little hollow. And a little lonely. There's this wrestler. His gimmick is that of a person who doesn't care about anything at all, even himself. All his previous problems have left a cold soulless man who feels useless. What use does he have in this world? Go out to the ring, hurt someone, leave and continues living an empty life, alone. I do not want that life.

And please, guys, if you want to lecture me, like say "Do something, go out there and make friends", don't. I didn't write this to get lectures. I did it to lighten my heavy emotional load.

I'm happy about one thing though: My sister just asked me what's wrong. She did it like in typical Ili style, meaning she did it half-sarcastically, but she did it. She rarely does that. And one more thing: Sometimes I do wish I'm not her brother. Not because I hate her, but because I keep thinking I've failed in my duties as her big brother, and she deserves someone better.

A truly historic post...

Yes, my friends, this truly is a historic post. This is the first time I'm posting a post...from a class, something I've never done before.

What? You don't think this is historic? Eh, up to you.

See, when I first started this blog, not only is it because I wanted to hop in the Blogger Bandwagon, but because I wanted to comment on all that is current in our world. Then I realized all that is current in our world is currently BORING. Suicide bombing here, reality show there. Same old, same old. Yawn. Besides, Shanaz does that job brilliantly enough. (BTW, no, I am not in favour of women in NS, not because they can't handle it. Au Contraire, it's because they CAN handle it, and handle it so well they will kick the men's butts from Pulau Tekong to Pulau Ubin. And if there's one thing some men can't handle, it's being beat by a girl.) When it comes to writing non-fiction stuff, I can't compete with her. Fiction, however...but I digress. Now I use this blog (which I have dubbed Sm4113r's Domain after my Matrix Forum ID) to post, to paraphrase a blurb from Bridget Jones' Diary, the "Random Ramblings of a Pissed 18-year-old". Which leads me to today's Random Ramble.

I WANT MY EGGS!!! I NEED MY EGGS!!! I CAN BARELY TAKE IT WITHOUT MY EGG & MAYONNAISE SANDWICH FOR BREAKFAST!!! DAMN THOSE FOOLS AT THE AVA!!! DAMN THEM ALL!!!

Thus concludes today's post. Thank you for bothering to read it from top to bottom.

In memoriam

http://home.mchsi.com/~gcfl/attack.swf

This Flash was made by a New Yorker to remember the terrorist attacks exactly 3 years to this day.

I remember that day. My mom had asked me to turn off my radio to study. This was around 8:40pm, 8:40am New York time. If I had left it on for just 10 more minutes, I would have heard Jamie Yeo break the news that a plane had hit one of the World Trade Center towers in New York. While the 4 planes that were hijacked crashed along with a few hundred innocent lives and the terrorists that held them hostage, I just sat there studying, blissfully unaware. Around 10, I stooped because I wanted to watch WWF SummerSlam. My sister came in my room, with a weird look on her face. I didn't ask why, I was so focused on waiting for SummerSlam to start. I turned on my radio for awhile. The music was sombre, Jamie was speaking in a mournful tone. Then I realized something was wrong. But then SummerSlam started and I turned off the radio before I learned why.

The theme song to SummerSlam was playing. I remembered thinking, "Hey! Catchy!" And then finally, tracking at the bottom of my screen, I finally realised why my sister looked weird, why Jamie sounded so sad. "The second tower of the World Trade Center has collapsed." That's what it said. I immediately switched to Channel NewsAsia. I think you can guess what I saw. And keep in mind that the TV I was watching was in black & white, so that made everything darker, more vivid. In the end, I forgot about WWF, that seemed inconsequential compared to this. An attack on humanity.

I don't care about what happened after. The distrust of some people against Islam, the wars, the economy. All I cared about was the people that died. The brave people that dared to stand up to the terrorists in one of the planes and thereby saving possibly the White House itself, at the expense of their lives. The people who jumped out of the towers to end it all, why delay the inevitable? I admit, all this made me look at my faith more carefully. But after all this, I was shocked, I was afraid, I was angry, but I was NOT surprised. With so many people hating America so much, something like this had to happen eventually. All the more unfortunate that it did happen.

To all the people affected in one way or the other by the 9/11 attacks, in other words, to every resident of our planet Earth, remember the fallen.

An Open Message to any Non-Wrestling Fan Out There

This is a column from Da J-Train from LordsOfPain.net, a wrestling fan site. I am in complete agreement with everything said here.

"Hi, I’m Da J-Train, and I’ve been a wrestling fan since I’ve been really young. Deal With It! I have just been getting sick and tired of these non wrestling fans out there bitching and snickering about professional wrestling and how terrible it is. We all have our likes and dislikes, and it’s a little presumptuous of non wrestling fans to impose on something we like just because they don’t like it.

I am a person who believes that something that brings joy to you can’t bring you that much harm… well, short of Doritos. This is the way I have viewed wrestling in the course of my viewing time throughout my life. I like wrestling, and if you don’t big fucking deal. Do you want a cookie? I don’t know, I suppose I am sick of these condescending people who I seem to constantly come in contact with when I am watching wrestling and they snicker or make stupid comments about how dumb wrestling is for a variety of reasons. You see, I don’t get this at all. I mean, most wrestling fans have been watching for a long time, and a good deal of them have been watching since childhood like I have. Do you really think YOUR opinion is going to make a difference in that? If not, shut up.

All of the complaints are usually all the same, at least with the people I have encountered. They all say the same things, but in a different variety. After all, is there really all that much that you can complain about a subject that you know nothing about? These are the complaints I usually hear…

Ugh, This Stuff Is SO Fake OR You Know This Stuff Is Fake, Right?: No! Really? Wow! Since when? Yeah, we all know wrestling a fake, get over it. Unless you are a deaf and dumb pig, you know that wrestling is fake. Guess what? I like it ANYWAY. So they know the outcome before it happens, big deal. There’s more to a wrestling match than the outcome. We, as wrestling fans, when he decided to like wrestling despite knowing it’s fake, all unconsciously decided to suspend logic when it came to wrestling. Logically, realism says that many of these moves could incapacitate a person for a while, or at least give these wrestlers some sort of abrasion. However, they don’t, and we’ve decided to look past realism because it’s fun to pretend!

I Don’t Watch Wrestling Anymore… it was SOOO Much Better In *Insert Period of Time*: So wrestling was better before? So what? So many things were better in the past than now. Rock music was better back in the 60’s and 70’s and early 90’s, but I still listen. Film hasn’t had a truly great year since 1994, but I still go to the movies. Every entertainment medium has their low points, why should wrestling be any different? Sure, the WWF was better a long time ago and in the mid to late 90’s, I’m still gonna watch anyway. Why? Because that’s what a fan does. Fans don’t ditch something just because it’s a sinking ship, and then bash it years later. So shut up, seriously, because chances are that something you follow closely has been better in the past.

Oh who cares… they’re just on steroids anyway: Oh, I see, so you are gonna judge all of professional wrestling based on a single scandal? That’s great logic, asshole. By that logic, all professional basketball players have been accused of sexual assault right? A boxer was just accused of raping a woman in Nicaragua, but it doesn’t mean I’m gonna judge all of boxing for that scandal for the rest of time. Really, people have to get over the whole steroids in wrestling thing and start getting tougher on the whole steroids in baseball thing… at LEAST that’s contemporary. Almost every aspect of our culture has had scandal attached to it. If people really wanted to stop doing something because of that thing’s association with scandals, they would have to stop buying corporate made products, they would have to stop voting because of past White House scandals, there would be no more worship of Roman Catholicism, and most of the professional, collegiate, and Olympic sports would be null and void. So shut up about wrestling and steroids.

What’s the point of watching? It’s SO predictable, you know who’s gonna win: How? How do YOU know who’s going to win? There are a select few who knows who is gonna win, and chances are YOU aren’t one of them. The best part about this is that most of the time that these people say this, the person that they said was gonna win ends up losing! The last time this happened to me was the HHH vs. Shelton Benjamin match and the guy who said it felt like an ass afterwards. To be honest, most of the time, you know who is gonna win, but there are many times that the WWE creates an illusion of spontaneity and throws in a monkey bone.

I guess I take all this stuff too personally, but after I have watched wrestling as long as I have, and am in an atmosphere where no one else watches, it gets a little to me when you hear the same stuff over and over again. I can hardly stand it when wrestling fans are extremely negative about wrestling… but non wrestling fans have no excuse or basis for what they are saying. They usually give really general reasons for their criticism which could get turned around to apply to anything.

So this I say to any non wrestling fans who may be reading… although I fully understand that I am writing this on a wrestling website, therefore little to no non wrestling fans will be reading… but I am saying it anyway… Shut the fuck up. Stop judging wrestling and its fans based on nothing! Allow us to watch what we enjoy. Chances are, we’ll always return the favor… and if we don’t, beat us with a stick."

Correction, make it 4. I'd say this my favourite blog skin yet.

Huh...

Will you look at that? Adding the Haloscan comments and trackbacks was easier than I thought.

3 posts in a day. And you all say I don't update this blog enough.

A blog about Seinfeld

That means a blog about nothin' in particular.

So, adik, you promise to kill me physically and emotionally, hmmm? How ya gonna do that? Whatchu' gonna doooo, brother, eh salah, sister? Trust me, I've been hurt too many times physically and emotionally, you're going to have to come up with something special.

So, an outing to Sentosa tommorow. I don't mind the fact that I'm going with family because hey, it's been a while since both a family outing AND a trip to Sentosa for me. I think the last time was with my camp buddies. In fact, that was exactly a year ago. Ahh, the old camp camraderie. The Eclipz spirit. It's only a flickering flame now, compared to the forest fire a year ago, but it'll always keep burning, I hope. Anyway, I digress. Ah yes, Sentosa. I love that place, especially in the mid 90s when it was packed. Now it's almost back to its old Pulau Blakang Mati days. Actually, I'm worried. With Sentosa Cove and a possible casino coming, Sentosa may turn from a "fun for the whole family" island to a "fun for all rich yuppie scums" island.

A girlfriend is something I know I won't have for quite a while yet, but I'm already thinking of what to do when I finally go on a date. What do I do? What do I say? Where do I go? Will my parents give me enough money? Fast food restaurants are a no-no. One place that I keep thinking of is the area around the Esplanade. Walking around the Esplanade and Merlion, eating at the new Satay Club (delicious Mee Goreng there). Damn those who closed down Centro. And after all that, spend a night at the Fullerton Hotel...okay, I'm thinking too far ahead, better stop now.

So why are actors playing autistic people become so popular? We have of course Zamberi A Patah, a nobody before becoming Cik Leh. He became almost a superstar overnight. And we're not the only guilty ones. Over in the States, another handicapped character on TV is getting way more popular than anyone imagined. In fact, no one thought he could be popular, especially not in the World Wrestling Entertainment. Eugene, played by Nick Dinsmore, is exactly like Cik Leh, except that Eugene is also a wrestler. A damn good wrestler. He appeared on WWE TV, and became popular almost overnight. The internet people who were certain a handicapped person can't be over in WWE were shocked. I wasn't. I've seen it happen in Jeritan Sepi in Suria. It's happening again on WWE RAW. And the writers on the show are doing a commendable job with Eugene, handling the character with care, with lots of comedy, yes, but not until it crossed the offensive line. Eugene is a bright spot in an otherwise dull 2004 season for the WWE. Also a shout out to Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle and John Cena. Word Life.

The difference between "Cute" and "Act Cute"

Cute

Act Cute

"Is this fact? Or have we taken you on a ride?"

Johnathan Frakes rulez! Anyway, on with this post.

Fact: My life is complicated

Fact: But not as complicated as girls

Fact: Arsenal rawks!

Fact: Man U is sh!t

Fact: Soccer is good, floorball is better, pro wrestling is best

Fact: I will win an Emmy award one day.

Fact: Java is Hell

Fact: My dad is kinda like the Singapore Government. Whatever independence I have is strictly limited.

Fact: Outings with my friends (not including BBQs) in my entire life: 4 (Not an exxageration)

Fact: That's either because they've never invited me or I've never asked them.

Fact: If I'm not careful, my life as a NP student may prematurely end.

Fact: 1998/2002 are tied for the Best Year of My Life. 1995 is the Worst.

Fact: Life is just one big soap opera.

Fact: My parents ask me to mix around with people. But only in school. Ratio of times they've allowed me to go to a BBQ vs times they didn't - 1:3

Fact: Before I started my first year in poly, I asked my dad if I could go to a beach party my orientation camp friends have set up. He said no, because he wanted me to concentrate on getting ready for poly life. "You can't have too much fun. School is about to start." Though I didn't argue, I though that he mentioned exactly why I wanted to go. School was about to start. Why not have MORE fun before finally starting school?

Fact: One more thing about my parents, and then I'll stop - every single time I do manage to get out of the house, my parents always, and I mean ALWAYS make me feel guilty about it. They do it subtly. Giving me a look that says "You better come home quick!". One day, they may give me a "Have fun, dear!" look. But I'm not holding my breathe.

Fact: Squirrels are funny

Fact: I have way too much time on my hands right now.

Fact: Any enthusiasm I feel about my studies instantly evaporates when I sit on my butt and actually study.

Fact: It is possible to get by with an $80-a-month allowance. That is if your parents control you like mine does. Oh wait, I'm supposed to stop talking about my parents.

Final Fact: I hate being a blurtoad.

Jived on Java

Note: That l-l-little "0 users" is my l-little at-t-tempt to check to see how many p-p-people exactly are reading my b-b-blog at any moment-t-t in time. I don't think it's work-king right, so just ignore it for n-now.

Now you're p-p-probably wondering why I'm st-st-stuttering. Reason b-b-being, that's how I sound-d-d right now. Aft-ter a little persuasion, I finally went d-down to Coffee B-B-Bean. Being a coffee v-v-virgin, all that extra c-c-caffeine has made me-e-e an edg-g-gy person. My legs are sh-shaking and and I j-just feel like dancing. The stutters are there to show you what I m-mean. Right, I'll stop here-e-e.

Know what? Thanks for inviting me, Faryn & Ernie. I had a great time there, even though it was just us sitting there and sipping Iced Mocha Lattes. The atmosphere, which includes the music and smoke, was excellent. And the coffee wasn't half-bad. Too bad I can't afford any more trips there, but hey it was fun.

And as I said, I will only update my blog only when I feel like it. I am not my adik, blogging every single, b!tching about everything wrong about her life. OK?

Now, if anyone out there would care to point me towards some torrent links to WWE Raw and Smackdown!, I'll be happy.

Toodles. (Tell me I didn't just say that...)

Have you ever had one of those days.....

....when for no reason at all, you just feel happy? Your mood is good, you feel like hugging and kissing everyone you see? You feel like dancing even to songs you detest? It's what's happening to me. Maybe it has something to do with PM Lee Hsien Loong's NDR speech. Wo0t!

And now for something completely similar

Good try Ronald. Look ahead to 2008. Go Jiawei! Go Jiawei!

I look at my exam time table and what do I see? My exams of course. For only 2 subjects, Thursday and Friday. That means I have 3 more days to study. And what am I doing? Blogging! But still, I know I can at least pass these subjects. Just not next week lah. The October exams are the really important ones. Next week's also important lah, but you know what I mean.

The beta version of Counter-Strike: Source is out. I tried it a bit and I loved the new look, baby. Absolutely fabolous! Of course, I still sucked when it comes to playing. But I'll get better.

Gabe Newell, get your kiester off your chair and make your men finish Half-Life 2!

Dive! Dive! Dive!

Well, diving may not be the most glamourous sport in the Summer Games, but I like to watch it anyway. I still wonder how the best divers can enter the pool from 10 meters out without making a splash. Anyway, I just watched a diving final, the Men's Sychronised 3M Springboard final. China of course were the favourites. So of course, when one of their divers made an awful mistake by slipping and making an uncompleted dive, therefore getting a big fat score of 0.00. So who stepped up and took advantage? The home country Greece. It was Euro 2004 all over again as the Greek fans celebrated an unexpected gold medal. I can't blame them. Poor China. Well, anyone who makes a dumb mistake like that doesn't deserve a medal anyway.

And apparently, Ian Thorpe won the 200m freestyle, beating Michael Phelps. Usually I'd say Phelps is over-rated, but not in this case. I truly believe he can be one of the greatest of all time. Just wait till Beijing 2008. Thorpe will be in his prime, and Phelps will be peaking. That will be a showdown I will not miss.

2 months until Half-Life 2. Can't bloody wait.

Monday, August 16, 2004

It's been 1 week, and I'm having fun

What do you know? I'm still alive! My one week 'holidays' have begun, but might as well have no holiday, since my exams are just next week. But hey, I'm ready. Bring it on, I'm gonna kick a$$!

Ah, the Olympics. I have fond memories of Sydney. Here's hoping the new soccer champions of Europe, Greece (that never sounds old!), can do a good job.

My allowance is cut 50%. No problem, there's always Cash Converters.

Here's a pet peeve of mine. How come when everyone's stress, they lose weight, but when I'm stress, I gain weight? Damn my ravenous appetite!

Well, looks like I won't be selected for Floorball IVP team. But what else did I expect? But next year.....LOOK OUT SINGAPORE!!!

Shank, I'll never forgive you for inderictly sticking that Banana Phone song in my head.

Well, that's the afternoon report for ya. Later!

Fahrenhei 9/11

.....also known as "Bush Balik Kampong!"

Figures. I said that this would be posted on Monday, and so it is. Two Mondays later. Ah well, on with the review.

Yup, as I expected, this movie is not so much a 'documentary' as it is a propaganda piece to spread the message: get Dubya out of the White House now. The movie starts on November 2000. Election time. News channels everywhere were calling Al Gore the winner. Except Fox News, which calls George W Bush as President of the United States of America. Could it have something to do with the fact that Bush's nephew was in charge of election news in Fox News? These attacks on Bush keep on coming: Bush allied with the Saudis to attack Iraq so they build a pipeline below to get oil. The Coalition of the Willing, which only allied with the US in the Iraq war because, hey, they have no choice. And of course, the famous 7 minutes Bush spent reading The Pet Goat after hearing of the attacks.

No doubt, Michael Moore used some editing tricks to distort facts so that it would suit his views. But frankly, this is still one entertaining documentary, my favourite. There were more students in the theater that I thought it would be, and they enjoyed the movie tremendously. (The girls in fact, kept saying about Bush, "So cuuuuuute!". When the movie ended, for the first time ever, the audience I was sitting with applauded. That didn't happen even during Star Wars Episode 1.

Bottom line, Michael Moore set out to make his case against Bush and he suceeded. But whether or not Bush is elected, I don't care. What I care about is whether I was entertained. And heck, I was.

Where are my peeps?!

So, after thinking about it, I decided to heck care and visit my school again. I thought I'd meet some old friends. I thought WRONG! Sure I met Faiz and Fajrina, among others, but that's it? Please, show some support for our old school, guys! Ah, what am I saying, most of 'em don't know about this blog in the first place. Ho-hum. Maybe next time. Teacher's Day maybe. (Someone invite me, please!)

I'm gonna piss some people off, but hey, I'll say it anyway. I like Michael Moore. If not personally, then let's just say I like his work, the ones I've seen so far. Bowling For Columbine is a great pro-gun control movie which shows an America in need of strict gun usage. But it can't compare with Fahrenheit 9/11 which I'll touch upon later. And I've read the guide to his TV show, TV Land, which definitely sounds like the best non-fiction TV show I've heard of. Better than some of those 'reality' shows. What about his politics? They're mostly American politics, so what do I care? Let the Republicans worry about that. Yes, he manipulates facts, but he does 'em so well, you gotta give it up for that. I mean, I do it myself sometimes.

My nenek has rotated to my uncle's house now, so I'll have the house to myself again. At last, loud techno music with no one to tell me shut that radio off!

Could it be the Saudis? Damn, it was them!

Ahhh, nothin' like a bowl of Mee Soto in the middle of the night, eh? Well, it's been one heck of a week last week. What with my skin condition acting up again, my work piling up, my efforts to get a date futile and my laptop getting stolen. All in all, not a good week. But hey, least I still have my sanity, right? Feh.

I think it's time I start reviewing the movies I see in the cinemas, starting next Monday. The first movie I'll review is Fahrenheit 9/11, that Michael Moore documentary. Interesting movie that. Of course, it's now infamous throughout the world as the one where the fat, goateed guy dissed his president. But hey, at least it gave publicity to the children story, The Pet Goat, "a story so gripping, you can't put it down, even when your country is under attacked!"

Can't wait to see Collateral. Sure, it stars that egoist Tom Cruise, but he's a villain in this one. He always looked villainous to me.

Finally, a joke to round off yet another boring blog entry. This joke is dedicated to my sister.

Q: How many wome with PMS does it take to screw a lightbulb?
A: One. ONE!!! And do you know WHY it takes ONE?! Because no one else in this house knows HOW to change a lightbulb. They don't even know the bulb is BURNED OUT. They would sit in this house in the dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it OUT. And once they figured it out they wouldn't be able to find the lightbulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CUPBOARD for the past SEVENTEEN YEARS. But if they did, by some miracle, find and change the lightbulbs, TWO DAYS LATER the chair that they dragged from two rooms over to stand on to change the STUPID lightbulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT!!!!!!! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE CRUMPLED WRAPPER THAT THE STUPID $#@!*^&% LIGHTBULBS CAME IN. WHY??? BECAUSE NO ONE IN THIS HOUSE EVER CARRIES OUT THE GARBAGE!!!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATED FROM THE PILES OF GARBAGE THAT ARE 12 FEET DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE. THE HOUSE!! THE HOUSE!!! IT WOULD TAKE AN ARMY TO CLEAN THIS..............I'm sorry, what was the question again?

A minute's silence

I'm assuming this is no joke, so Faryn's blog has shut down for good, so I'd like to bow down my head and pray for the passing of one of the most colourful sites of the web. OK, prayer's over, what's for breakfast?

Seriously though, if the closure is because of the problems I heard you were havin', I'm truly sorry.

If all this really is a joke, well, that's what the delete button is for, isn't it?

Boom Boom

Man, I'm beginning to hate Tuesdays. My worst days seem to be coming from that day. OK guys, short entry here, since I feel like posting something but I don't know what to say. Just that I'm finally beginning to see Friendster's appeal. As usual, I'm a little late in seeing it, but at least I'm seeing it, right? Later.

Not just another dance song...

Lola's Theme by the Shapeshifters

Don't dismiss this as another cheesy dance song. Ok, maybe it is, but it's the best of its kind. Iit has a beat that you can't resist. When you hear this song, you will lose control of your feet as they try to boogie down. If this doesn't happen to you, you must really hate dance songs. Guaranteed to at least put a smile on your face, perfect theme for this summer.

Parker!!!

Time to let the cat out of the bag.

I'm Spider-Man.

Hey, what's so funny?

Alright, laugh if you will, but when someone is disturbing, don't crying to me for help.

In all seriousness, after months of the Simpsons, I decided on a change of skin. And oh my it fits perfectly, even if it is a little bloody. I also got a new skin for my blog. Nice, isn't it? Of course it's nice. I chose it.

Now then, yesterday, I was sitting in the Atrium as usual at night minding my own business. This group of Malays (hip-hoppers) were practising for something, I don't know. They finished practice, and decided to play a little Truth or Dare. I found this out when one of the girls in the group came up to me and said that she was dared to "grind" me. To those who know what I mean, wipe that smirk off your face and don't tell anyone. For those who don't, well, keep on not knowing. Anyway, being the sport I am, I agreed to let her "grind" me to the tune of Hey Mama by the Black Eyed Peas. She was embarressed, I was embarressed, the others were slapping me on my back, telling me I was cool. Y'know, incidents like these makes me feel glad that I am a teenager.

Spidey-sense tingling. Trouble's brewing. A bowl of Mee Soto is out there, crying to be eaten, and I'm the only one who can do it. Catch ya later!

(Hey, don't blame me for the cheesiness in that last paragraph, blame Stan Lee!)

Now what the heck is a Partner's day anyway? Still, nice to know my old school still has my e-mail address and using it AND inviting me (along with others). Should I go? Ask me in a month.

Redundant title

I think I prefer studying at the Atrium of Ngee Ann Polytechnic instead of the Library. A more noisy atmosphere, which I don't mind. A wider space.. More air, natural air, unlike te canned air in the Library. A deli and vending machines nearby. Donuts. More accesible toilets. And sometimes, the Ngee Ann Radio Station comes by to air from the Atrium, like right now. Gotta hand it to the DJs, professional sounding for students, and with great choices of songs too. I've just finished my first homework of the semester, well, the first homework that I've done in time. Now I feel calm and ready to rumble. In fact, unlike the last 2 semesters, I actually like almost ALL my subjects. (Jury's still out on my IS class).

RIP, Marlon Brando. I've only seen you in Superman: The Movie, but that's enough for me to appreciate your genius.

What shall I write about today?

Maybe I'll write about the problems suffocating me now. Maybe I'll write about my home computer being just fine except for the internet which doesn't work...at...ALL! Maybe I'll write about the same thing happening to my laptop. Well, not really the same. With my laptop I could still connect. Easily fixed by getting the very secure Mozilla browser. No more Internet Explorer for me. How about if write about the nail on my right big toe, which has been black and blue since the day I wore tight shoes during a floorball practice, and is now, because of an accident, painfully seperated from my toe. Now I have to wear a bandage for 3 days. Ah, maybe I'll get more attention this way. Which leads me to another thing I might want to write about, which the lack of attention I'm getting. Oh, my parents give too much of it, but my friends (to be fair, probably because I insist on going the loner route) keep ignoring. Not all of them, some of them. I'l just to work harder. And of course, I'll definitely write about my schoolwork, but we all know how that goes. So, what shall I write about today?

Que the song by Queen...

Let the record show that Greece, winner of absolutely nothing before today, are now the champions of Europe. Actually I was hoping for Latvia, but hey, that's football for you. I watched the match in my school along with 50 other people, with a special DVD showing of Bend It Like Beckham preceding it. Loved the movie, loved the game. That'll show the girls who came only to see Cristiano Ronaldo take off his shirt. Actually, it's this event that finally made me realise that meeting new people really is a good thing. Really enjoyed talking to those people sitting next to me, cheering Greece on. Those Greeks must be thinking, "Today, Euro 2004. Tommorow, the Olympics. The day after, the WORLD!" Not bad for a country of plate smashers, eh? Even got a cool temporary tatoo, one that doesn't look crappy.

Spider-Man 2 rocks. Enough said. So why are you still reading this? It is your duty to go to the nearest cinema as fast as your legs take you and watch this movie.
